Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust
Plymouth Hospitals is the largest hospital trust in the south west peninsula and is a teaching trust in partnership with the Peninsula Medical School. South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) works to provide ambulance services to the people of the south-west of England.

The enlarged Trust covers the counties of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and the former Avon area (Bristol, Bath, North and North East Somerset and South Gloucestershire).

The Trust is the primary provider of 999 ambulance services across its operational area.

NHS England - Devon, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Area Team
The Devon, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Area Team is the local arm of NHS England.

NHS England is one organisation across the whole of England and is an independent body at arm’s lenth to the Government. The area team have a system oversight role, supporting partnership working, quality and safety.

The area team is also the health system leads for emergency planning, resilience and response, working with partners through local resilience forums.

The area team directly commission primary care services. NHS England also commissions specialised services, offender health and military health, which is managed by neighbouring area teams on behalf of Devon, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly.
