Eastern Locality MSLC

Maternity Voices

Welcome to your local MSLC for the Eastern Locality

Come and help the East Devon Locality develop services for you and your family.

Meetings in the Eastern Locality

Dates and locations: Meetings will always be held in a local children’s centre or sometimes in a local maternity hospital.

You maternity care matters to us as much as it matters to you

Can I be involved?

Yes! You can be involved if you are a parent living in Exeter, East Devon or Mid Devon. Mums and dads are welcome!

We would be interested in your views about:
  • Parent-craft classes
  • Community maternity care
  • Care given in labour
  • Postnatal care and feeding support
  • Other areas of care given to you that you feel are important and how they can be improved.

So please tell us:

  • What went well?
  • What didn't go so well?
  • Ideas / suggestions for the future.

At the quarterly meetings, the members discuss a wide range of issues. These can vary from the practical issues of ward visiting times, through to reviewing hospital policies on induction and caesarean section.

Parent members are invited to discuss the maternity service and make suggestions for improvements. In between meetings, parent members are encouraged to find out about the experiences of other parents, so that these can be represented at the next meeting.

Our MSLC aims to ensure that parents-to-be and new parents receive the care that they want and need, and that their views are taken into account by the professionals who look after them.

What you tell us will help in shaping local maternity services now and for the future!

You are welcome to bring your babies and young children along, but we are unable to provide crèche provision.

Tea and coffee is available.
If you would like to be more involved please contact us: 01769 575160.
