Four Devon GP practices nominated for Surgery of the Year

29 June 2018

Four outstanding Devon GP practices have been recognised nationally in a shortlist for Surgery of the Year.

The nomination, a People’s Choice Award, acknowledges their contribution to providing outstanding services in general practice.

The four practices are:

  • Rolle Medical Partnership in Exmouth
  • Axminster Medical Practice in Axminster
  • Mount Pleasant Health Centre in Exeter
  • Compass House Medical Centre in Brixham

The national General Practice Awards are an annual celebration of the hard work, innovation, and dedication taking place in primary care across the UK. Showcasing the very best projects, teams, and leaders and sharing in achievements, the awards are a fantastic chance to step back and reflect on the past year.

Paul Baker, deputy director of primary care for the two Devon Clinical Commissioning Groups, said: “We already know we have excellent primary care services right across Devon and it’s fantastic news that these outstanding GP services have been recognised in this way.  The fact that these awards are nominated and voted for by local people and patients is especially heartening.”

New this year, the Surgery of the Year award offers the general public the chance to vote for who they think deserves to win and show appreciation for their local healthcare team. It is also perfectly timed to tie in with the NHS’ 70th birthday celebrations this summer.

You can vote for free online via the General Practice Awards website and really get behind your colleagues to help them make the short list.

Voting closes on 10 August, with the short list being announced on 3 September.
